Groups and channels cover the two ways people talk to more than one person at once. In AmeChat both are ordinary chats — the meta line under the title tells them apart.

Groups

A group is a shared conversation among its members. Everyone can read and send messages, reply, react and add threads, just like a direct message with more people. The meta line reads something like Group · 8 members.

Channels

A channel broadcasts to subscribers — one voice out to an audience that can be thousands strong. It is the right choice for announcements or publishing to a crowd rather than a back-and-forth. The meta line reads something like Channel · 12k subscribers.

Adding people

Admins can add members to a group. When several people are added at once, AmeChat shows a single tidy notice rather than a flood of one-line messages, keeping the conversation readable.

AI in groups and channels

In a group, the admin decides whether AI is available. Once it is on, members can summon a model into the conversation the same way as anywhere else. See Bring AI into a chat.
