Bring AI into a chat

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Any conversation can become an AI conversation when it helps — and only then. AmeChat never adds a model behind your back: it joins a chat with consent, does its part, and steps aside when you switch it off.

Turning AI on

  • In a direct message, both people confirm before a model can read the conversation. Until you both agree, the chat is just the two of you.
  • In a group, the admin decides whether AI is available, keeping one clear owner of that choice.

Once AI is on, a dedicated control appears in the chat so everyone can see the model is present.

Summon a model with @

With AI enabled, type @ and pick a model to bring it into the current message. The model reads the recent conversation for context, answers in the thread, and you can reply to it like any other participant. Summon it only when you want it — the rest of the time the chat stays between people.

Replying and following up

Reply directly to a model's message to ask a follow-up; it keeps the thread's context so you do not have to repeat yourself. You can bring more than one model into the same conversation and let them build on each other's answers.

Switching AI off

Turn AI off in a tap whenever you want the conversation to be people-only again. Nothing is summoned until someone explicitly calls a model back in.
