It depends on the chat. In a direct chat with a person, the AI joins only after both of you confirm. In a group, an admin turns it on. In your own AI chat — your private space with the assistant — it works by default. Either way it only ever sees that one conversation, never your other chats.
Yes. Claude, GPT and more live in one place — set a default and switch model per chat, or even mid-conversation. Every reply shows which model wrote it.
No. AI requests are processed under data-processing agreements and are never used to train models. AmeChat runs on servers in the EU under the GDPR.
Traffic between your device and AmeChat is encrypted in transit — TLS plus a second layer built on the Noise Protocol — and your messages, media and backups are encrypted at rest. Every new-device sign-in notifies you, and you can revoke any session instantly. More on the Security page.
